About Table Mountain & Cableway
One of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, rising 1,086 metres above Cape Town. A revolving aerial cableway or scenic hiking trails take visitors into a floral kingdom of 2,200 plant species.
Dating back 600 million years, Table Mountain is one of the oldest mountains on our planet. Its distinctive 3-kilometre level plateau is frequently draped in the 'tablecloth'—a dramatic cascade of white clouds formed when moist southerly winds ascend the cliffs. The revolving Table Mountain Aerial Cableway completes a 360-degree rotation during the 5-minute ascent, delivering passengers to panoramic viewing decks, Dassie nature walks, and sunset cocktail terraces with views reaching Robben Island and the Twelve Apostles peaks.
